13 Nights of Halloween 2013 celebrates one of my favorite characters and scenes that Harryhausen has put to film. The goddess, Kali, from the Golden Voyage of Sinbad. The ability of Harryhausen to have a multi-armed character fighting real actors and not missing a beat I am sure seemed like a massive undertaking and he made it look effortless
Only Tom Baker can make statues dance.
whoooooaaa.. this stuff is damn classic!
i love Kali
Tom Baker aka Doctor Who No 4 brings her to life and John Phillip Law and Martin Shaw do battle with it. Brilliant ! Not the first thing that leaps to mind when thinking of a Halloween horror but you have done may of them now. An inspired choice.
HHmm.. 7th voyage.. Golden voyage.. I've been wondering which works you have up and coming.. Truth be told , Sinbad is one of my favorite adventures and Harryhausen's movie magic really helped that along. My only real regret is that a fantasy adventure done with his amazing effects couldn't have happened when Douglas Fairbanks made Sinbad a hero to remember. Great hands on effort with this piece!
If you are doing Harryhausen tribute there will be a lot of Sinbad. Actually Harryhausen came up with many of the plots and storylines for the Sinbad movies
She was certainly the highlight of the film that is for sure. Her fight seemed to overshadow the Gryphon and Centar battle which unfortunately just just a pushing match. That was nowhere near the quality that he did with the cyclops/dragon or the Trog/Tiger (which is my favorite battle the man ever did).
Agreed on all points. I consider the Trog vs Sabertooth battle to be his best monster vs monster battle. It was a beautiful, vicious, and violent that eclipsed much of his work that came before it.
Lovin' all the Harryhausen stuff.
Those old HarryHausen movies were AWESOME. Especially back in the day, before CGI.
Harryhausen was a masterful storyteller. Maybe that was what separated him. I have never worked in television or cinema so I won't try to speak towards it. Maybe someone else with experience could chime in.
Now that is a cool movie.
It's one of my favorites too
looks like one of the end bosses in "The legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" c: My favourite endboss~~~
